Harbour yoke jumper£245
Pick a colourway
A small knitwear shop and studio by the pier. Every yoke is charted, dyed and knitted here, from wool grown on the island.
Design a yoke
Pick a colourway, then click squares on the chart. The jumper beside it re-knits with every click. The chart stays mirror-symmetric, the way island knitters draw it.

About a year passes between a sheep being clipped and a jumper leaving the shop. This is the order it happens in.
Shearing in JuneOur neighbours’ sheep are clipped by hand on the hill.
SpinningA small mill on the mainland spins the fleece into 2-ply jumper weight.
DyeingIndigo, madder and a lichen gold, dyed in small pots behind the shop.
KnittingBodies on a hand frame, yokes by hand. About 30 hours for a jumper.
FinishingWashed, dried flat on a wooden board and checked stitch by stitch.
